I hope one day I learn the truth about how our great country came to an end. It may not be known until after my death, and maybe only told to me by God himself. We can no longer trust the media, trust each other, or believe our eyes, as the deceit is everywhere, all around us, from both sides of a divided America.
I am sure of this, it didn’t happen overnight, this last year, or even the last decade. That’s the thing about good and evil, good is a deed in the moment and righteousness is fleeting under scrutiny. Evil on the other hand is a patient continuous process that accumulates the smallest of gains to undermine the endurance of a society. Over time it blurs the lines to cross in inches not yards, in a slow fade until you realize there is no ground left on which to stand. Democrats nor Republicans are going to save this country, but divisiveness will surely destroy it.
Power corrupts all people, and abuse of power is the root cause of the collapse of every country throughout history. And yet here we are after thousands of years of lessons learned, facing that repeating cycle of history. All because we fail to listen, love, and live with one another without an all powerful sovereign government to dictate exactly how. We label instead of leading, levy instead of liberating, and labor instead of laughing. The joy, pride, and hope that was inherent in being an American is definitely gone from our society,. Not because of who won or lost an election, but because we all lost our love and empathy for each other. The shining light of the world has succumbed to the darkness, and it is the beginning of the end of US.
